Natives of Morbihan, Nathalie and Benjamin renovated La Maison Magnolia with the desire to create an authentic space where every detail matters. Each morning, Nathalie prepares a home-made breakfast using local products — artisan jams, fresh pastries from Guidel’s bakery, fresh fruit juice, market honey. A meal that puts a smile on your face before starting your day in Brittany.
Benjamin, passionate about hiking and Breton heritage, will be delighted to guide you towards the least frequented coastal paths and coves of the Morbihan shoreline, local farmers’ markets and must-visit local restaurants. Together, they have made La Maison Magnolia a warm and attentive home, where every traveller is welcomed like a long-time friend.

Guidel, in the Heart of Morbihan
Guidel is one of the best-preserved coastal towns in Brittany, halfway between Lorient (12 km) and Quimperlé (15 km). Its white sandy beaches, protected dunes and 800-hectare maritime forest make it a sought-after destination for nature lovers, far from the crowds of typical seaside resorts. Each season reveals a different face: flaming autumn colours in the forest, powerful Atlantic waves in winter, flowering dunes in spring, lively beaches in summer.
From La Maison Magnolia, you can reach Guidel-Plages beach in a few minutes, along with the coastal hiking trail GR34 or the coastal cycling route linking Lorient to Quiberon. For cultural outings, the Festival Interceltique de Lorient (every August), the Cité de la Voile Éric Tabarly and the Golfe du Morbihan — listed among the world’s most beautiful bays — are all within an hour. Guidel’s weekly market, held every Tuesday morning, is the perfect place to put together a delicious picnic with local producers.

Where is La Maison Magnolia located?
La Maison Magnolia is located in Guidel, in the Morbihan (Southern Brittany), 12 km from Lorient and 2 km from the beaches of Guidel-Plages. Access by car is easy from the N165 (Lorient-Quimper). The exact address and access code will be sent to you by email after booking.
Can I get there without a car?
Absolutely. Lorient train station is 12 km away. In summer, seasonal shuttles connect Lorient to Guidel beaches. The coastal cycle route is directly accessible from the property — ideal for cycling to the beach (2 km), the forest (500 m) and Guidel town centre (3 km).
Are the cottage and rooms open all year round?
Yes, La Maison Magnolia welcomes guests all year round. The heated swimming pool is available from April to October. In low season, you’ll enjoy a more intimate Breton atmosphere at reduced rates. It’s also the ideal time for forest walks without the summer crowds.
Is breakfast included?
Our home-made breakfast — local products, fresh pastries, artisan jams — is included in all bed and breakfast options (Chambre Magnolia and Maison Hortensia). For the full cottage rental, it is available as an option at €15 per person.
Are there shops nearby?
Guidel town centre — bakery, grocery, pharmacy, restaurants — is 3 km away. A local farmers’ market is held every Tuesday morning. Lorient, with all major shops, is 12 km away. The nearest supermarket is 4 km away.
What is your cancellation policy?
